Non-urgent advice: New Patients
How to register:
Please be aware that, as per health board guidelines, if you are already registered with a surgery that covers the Gorebridge area you will not be able to register with us. This applies to patients registered with Newbattle or Pathhead surgeries.

Application to Register with a General Medical Practitioner - GPR (Scotland)
Step 3.
Visit the reception team at the Practice after 10.30 am Tuesday to Friday within 14 days of completing the forms. Online registrations not confirmed in 14 days will mean you need to complete the process again.
Please bring along your valid ID. (See below)
What happens next?
Acceptance on to the list is as at the discretion of the GP. We will ask you for proof of identity. Once you have been accepted as a patient, your medical records will be transferred to the Practice. Your medical records may take several weeks to arrive at the Practice.
You may be invited to the practice for a new patient check-up/assessment.
In the rare event of a patient being violent or abusive, the patient will be removed from the practice list. The patient will be informed of the reason for removal in writing and the Health Board will be informed.
Please supply two forms of identification.
Registration ID Policy
We request that all new patients present two forms of identification.
One form of identity must ideally be photographic such as:
- Passport
- Drivers Licence
- Official ID card from Public Services body
- Student matriculation card (current year)
Other documents for proof of address that are acceptable are:
- Recent utility bill (within last 3 months)
- Council Tax document
- Television Licence
